From Playtime to Possibilities: How My Daughter’s “Squiriella” Sparked a Lesson on AI

At my daughter’s spare time, once she’s done with her home drills, she heads straight for her toys. I often pay close attention during these moments—because in her play lies a glimpse into her creative strengths, and she never falls short of expectations.

Interestingly, one character dominates all her play: “Squiriella.”
Squiriella is soft, playful, cheerful, and calm with friends but goes full “Hulk mode” when pushed to the wall or attacked. Impressed by her sense of detail, I once told her she could create her own cartoons around this lovely character. At first, she found the idea strange until I sat her at my reading desk, launched an AI tool in voice mode, and asked her to describe Squiriella.

In moments, the AI drew and animated her character. Watching Squiriella come alive blew her mind.
